It’s official – October is Arts DuPage Month (ADM), a 31-day celebration of the arts throughout DuPage County! Local artists and arts organizations are adding to the festivities by hosting special events and offering exclusive incentives throughout the area.

Coordinated by Arts DuPage, a DuPage Foundation initiative, ADM is a favorite among community members. Ticket discounts, exclusive tours, and intimate artists’ talks are ready for you to discover. Check out artsdupage.org to find arts-related activities for people of all ages! Whether you visit your favorite theater, explore a new museum, or meet a talented artist, your art experience awaits!


Calling all Artists! DEADLINE EXTENDED!!

Enter the 2024 Arts DuPage Month Create-A-Poster competition for a chance to win a one-year Arts DuPage Membership and a $250 donation to the DuPage County not-for-profit arts organization of your choice. This year's theme is "Being Human" and aligns with Americans for the Arts' theme for its National Arts & Humanities Month.

Selected entries will be displayed on Arts DuPage’s website and Facebook page and the winner’s design will be featured on social media throughout Arts DuPage Month in September and October!

Submit your entry, along with your name and the title of your entry, to Debbie Venezia at debbie@dupagefoundation.org by midnight on August 25. The winner will be announced in October.

GUIDELINES

  • Poster design must have a minimum of 300dpi and be either
    • 1,080 px x 1,080 px (square)
    • 1080 px x 1350 px (vertical)
    • or 1920 px x  1080 px, (horizontal)
  • The following text must be included in the design: “Arts DuPage Month 2024”
  • Posters can be created via any medium, but the submission must be digital
  • All entries must include a title

 

JUDGING CRITERIA

A panel of arts specialists selected by Arts DuPage will evaluate the entries based on the following:

  • Originality of Design
  • Clarity of Theme
  • Technical Application
  • Unique use of Text
  • Artistic Expression

Copyright
The poster you will be submitting is an image of original artwork created by yourself or is artwork created by a designer/illustrator/photographer/artist who authorized you in writing to submit the image on her or his behalf. Images submitted by you do not violate the privacy rights, publicity rights, copyright, or other intellectual property rights of any person or entity. You may not post, distribute, or reproduce in any way any copyrighted material, trademarks, or other proprietary information without obtaining the prior written consent of the owner of such proprietary rights. Without limiting our rights, it is our policy to terminate all relations with any designer/artist/illustrator/photographer who infringes copyright upon our receipt of a notice of infringement from the copyright owner or the copyright owner's legal counsel.

Permissions
By submitting a poster, you grant Arts DuPage an irrevocable, royalty-free license to reproduce, publish, display, and distribute the post as described above, including on or through any Arts DuPage and DuPage Foundation websites and social media platforms and any other use related to Arts DuPage. You also give Arts DuPage permission to use your name and likeness in connection with the use of your post as described.

General
Artists must be 18 years or older and have an artist profile on artsdupage.org. The applicant must also be a resident of or work in DuPage County or be a member of Arts DuPage in order to participate. There is no purchase or payment required to enter. Void where prohibited. Selections of winning posts are final. Arts DuPage may modify the terms of, or cancel, the competition at its discretion.
