The focus of DuPage Foundation’s Capacity Building grant program is to provide funding to local not-for-profit organizations to help strengthen their organizational ability to effectively deliver on their mission now and into the future.
We will award a total of $100,000 for capacity building projects that help not-for-profit organizations and their leaders improve knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that contribute to effective and long-term organizational performance.
Grant Guidelines and Application
Applications will be accepted from not-for-profit charitable organizations that:
- are public charities classified as exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
- primarily serve DuPage County residents
- have received a grant within the last three years from DuPage Foundation’s Community Impact grant program
Applicants may apply for a Capacity Building grant of up to $20,000. Applications must be submitted online by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025.

To support the cost of FreeWill, a planned giving suite and microsite, to support an integrated marketing campaign to increase planned giving to Bridge Communities in an effort to secure the organization's future and ultimately serve more families facing homelessness.

To support the engagement of a marketing consultant that will develop a holistic marketing strategy and implementation plan to help BrightSide effectively grow ticket sales and program registrations.

To support a new reservation system that will allow Candor Health Education to save money and dedicate more time to working with school personnel to assess their needs and expand youth prevention education.

To support the hiring of an Associate Director of Quality Assurance who will ensure regulatory compliance related to public grant funding, continuous quality improvement, and data management.

To support the purchase of an ILA translation device to provide a smoother mode of communication with non-English speaking clients.

To support technology upgrades and implementation of a client online ordering platform that will expand EYFP’s ability to distribute food from a secondary warehouse location.

To support transportation capacity for students which is necessary for GECRC to maintain and expand partnerships that help improve student outcomes.

To support the engagement of a consultant to help identify and build sustainable revenue sources which will enable NAMI to strengthen current programs and build a legacy giving program.

To implement a digital rebranding to enhance operational efficiency, fostering long-term growth, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and supporting GWP in achieving its mission more effectively.
