DuPage Foundation is pleased to announce the promotion of Kaitlyn Miller Balsewicz, CFRE, CAP® to director of donor services/philanthropic advisor, effective immediately.
Balsewicz joined the Foundation in March 2018 as its development officer to coordinate Foundation events and assist with all aspects of donor engagement. Since that time, she has successfully taken on increased responsibilities and distinguished herself as an invaluable member of the Foundation team.
In her new role, Balsewicz will focus on increasing her work throughout the community, helping build discretionary community endowments while working closely with individuals, families, and professional advisors to help them and their clients achieve their personal charitable goals. She will also continue to assist area not-for-profits in creating endowment and reserve funds for their organizations while serving as the lead staff member overseeing the Foundation’s Annual Benefit, Glen Ellyn Fund Initiative, and Next Generation Initiative. Additionally, Balsewicz will remain an integral part of the Foundation’s stewardship and community engagement efforts.
“This promotion is in recognition of Kait’s outstanding service and contributions to the Foundation over the past six years,” said Mike Sitrick, president & CEO. “It also reflects her growth and personal investment in becoming a highly capable major gift officer, philanthropic advisor, teammate, and community leader as we begin retooling our Advancement team to prepare for the next chapter of the Foundation’s growth. We are grateful to Kait for her deep commitment to our mission and continued investment in our community.”
Balsewicz holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Norbert College. She is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and earned a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) designation from the American College of Financial Services. Balsewicz is also a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Chicago Chapter, Chicago Council on Planned Giving, and the West Suburban Philanthropic Network, the latter of which honored her in 2020 as the recipient of its Nonprofit Professional Rising Star of the Year Award. She previously worked for Chicago-based Interfaith America as its foundation relations manager. Balsewicz started her career in philanthropy as a development intern for Bridge Communities, Inc.
Balsewicz is a lifelong DuPage County resident. She grew up in Glen Ellyn and graduated from Glenbard West High School. She now resides in Winfield with her spouse, Jeff.
