NGI Spring Social Grows Support for GardenWorks

NGI Spring Social Grows Support for GardenWorks

Thanks to all who joined us to toast spring's arrival and support The GardenWorks Project during NGI's Spring Social in March at D.O.C. Wine Bar in Lombard! Click here to see photos. We are pleased to share that GardenWorks will be receiving a $2,500 grant!

The GardenWorks Project promotes organic suburban agriculture to improve the well-being of our community, the environment, and those facing food insecurity. They empower, educate, and support all food growers in their efforts to nourish their families and neighbors in need.

NGI will be volunteering with a garden build at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, in Naperville. We'll install new garden beds, lay soil and compost, and plant seeds and seedlings for six households(location information to follow before the event). Bring gloves, garden tools (optional), water, and sunscreen. Children are welcome (under supervision), and while some tasks include heavier lifting, there are volunteer options for all ages and abilities at this build! Register for the garden build here.

You can also save the date for our next NGI event on Thursday, July 18 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the historic Chicago Golf Club in Wheaton. Held in conjunction with the DuPage County Bar Association, this event will feature CASA of DuPage County.

NGI seeks to partner with community members ready to engage in philanthropic activities and meet others interested in helping raise the quality of life for the residents of the DuPage community. Join NGI by visiting the Foundation's website or by e-mailing Kaitlyn Balsewicz, development officer, at kait@dupagefoundation.org or calling 630.598.5292.
