Lisa Tylke Joins the DuPage Foundation Staff

DOWNERS GROVE, Illinois—The DuPage Foundation is pleased to announce the hiring of Lisa Tylke as the new director of our Arts DuPage initiative. In her new role, Tylke will be responsible for leading our newly-formed, county-wide arts council to promote creativity and nurture engagement and investment in the arts throughout DuPage County.

"I'm excited to have Lisa join our staff to lead Arts DuPage," said Foundation Vice President for Programs Barb Szczepaniak. "She has the perfect balance of skills and experience to build the infrastructure for this new entity. Additionally, developing relationships with multiple constituencies will be one of the keys to the success of Arts DuPage and she has already established considerable credibility within the regional and state arts communities."

For the past twenty years, Lisa has served as an independent not-for-profit management consultant for a diverse group of Chicago area arts and education organizations. Drawing on her extensive background in arts, education and association management, Lisa's consulting work has focused on governance, strategic planning, fundraising, organizational development and assessment. She is recognized as a seasoned facilitator and trainer.

Lisa has also been an associate consultant with the Arts & Business Council of Chicago, serving as the lead consultant for its smARTscope initiative, which provides organizational assessment guidance for small and mid-sized arts organizations.

Additionally, she has conducted program evaluations for the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and The Chicago Community Trust. For the past four years she has been an instructor with the University of Chicago Graham School's Board Leadership Certificate program.

Lisa's key executive experience includes having served as executive director of the Chicago Dance Coalition for eight years. During her tenure there, the organization's budget grew threefold; a major multi-state artistic and management support collaboration was initiated; and a multi-faceted public relations and marketing assistance program for the dance community was developed.

Lisa holds a Master of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Science in dance from the University of Utah and University of Wisconsin, respectively. She currently serves as the board president for the Glen Ellyn Children's Resource Center, a literacy organization providing educational support services to low income, immigrant and/or refugee families. She is a long-time resident of Glen Ellyn.

“I am extremely honored to serve as director of Arts DuPage and I look forward to undertaking the important work of promoting engagement and investment in the arts and creativity throughout DuPage,” said Tylke.
